The mangrove is the border in two directions of the sea’s existence, the indecipherable space where the land ends and the ocean begins. The series “Mangroves” refers to these unique ecosystems that have a very important weight in nature and that, at the same time, are a double way, a point that channels life between two worlds: the terrestrial and the aquatic, the island and the sea, a frontier-universe where nature is negotiated in permanent processes.

The trace left by the fire, the scorching passage proposed with a sense of ritual, refers to a transformation, one that is produced with a new birth. The mangrove stands where the land begins and the sea ends, or vice versa; being at the same time the one and the other.
