Banquet
Digital print /canvas

The theme of household elements, the everyday objects inside a house and that we have at hand in our intimate spaces, is always present in my work, whether through photographs, material paintings or small or large format installations.
The staging of an allegory to the container where food is placed, the absence of food, is a symbolic communication channel to express a state of thought. The table, the tablecloth and the person lying inert under this layer, the experiences of the “banquet”, is an irony when talking about emptiness, the bitterness of sacrifice and the many limits that society has historically imposed on women.
I see the works in a cinematographic-mobile state that, although the image given by the artist is static, there are references to hidden movements that continue telling the story based on the work in question. There may be second and third persons behind the zenith point watching to taste the delicacy, or perhaps a whole feast. Women in a gravitational state and solitude, blind to what is happening on the other side, carry with them the two dimensions of what is possible, because life or death is a mystery. A table set is only a banquet as a possibility, as a future. A banquet woman is an observer.
